LASIK is a permanent, life-changing procedure — which means the evaluation before surgery matters enormously. We conduct a detailed pre-surgical assessment to determine whether you're a good candidate and which procedure is right for your eyes.
This isn't a quick screening. We take the time to measure your corneal shape, assess your tear film, review your prescription history, and evaluate your overall ocular health — so that when you do proceed with surgery, you do it with confidence.

The Evaluation
What We Evaluate at Your Consultation
Corneal Topography & Thickness
We map the precise curvature and thickness of your cornea using advanced imaging. This determines whether you have enough corneal tissue for safe laser reshaping and flags irregular patterns that may disqualify or influence your procedure choice.
Refraction & Prescription Stability
We confirm that your prescription has been stable for at least one to two years. Patients whose prescription is still changing are not good LASIK candidates — we ensure you're at the right stage before referring you for surgery.
Pupil Size Measurement
Large pupils in low-light conditions can increase the risk of halos and glare after LASIK. We measure your pupil diameter and discuss this risk factor openly so you can make a fully informed decision.
Dry Eye Evaluation
Pre-existing dry eye is one of the most common reasons LASIK is postponed or reconsidered. We assess your tear film and ocular surface health — and if needed, we treat dry eye first so your surgical outcome isn't compromised.
Overall Ocular Health Screening
We examine your entire eye — including the retina, optic nerve, and lens — to rule out any conditions that could affect surgical safety or recovery, such as keratoconus, macular disease, or elevated intraocular pressure.
Surgeon Matching & Referral
Not all LASIK surgeons are equal. Based on your eye anatomy, prescription, and candidacy results, we match you with the surgeon in our network best suited for your specific case — and we co-manage your pre- and post-operative care every step of the way.
