How It Works
Precise, controlled pulses of light are applied to the skin around and below the eyes, targeting the inflammation that drives chronic dry eye and facial redness.
The light's gentle warmth helps clear and reactivate the meibomian glands along your lash line, improving the oily layer of your tears for lasting comfort.
Each session takes about 10 to 15 minutes with no downtime. A short series of treatments, spaced a few weeks apart, delivers building, lasting relief.
Intense Pulsed Light
OptiLight is the first and only intense pulsed light device FDA-approved for dry eye management. Its precise, optimized pulses of light are applied to the skin below the eyes, where they reach the root causes of chronic dry eye and inflammation.
The light reduces inflammation, restores meibomian gland function, and decreases the bacteria and Demodex mites along the lash line — while also calming facial redness and rosacea for clearer skin.

Calm the Redness
Rosacea rarely stays on the surface. The same chronic inflammation that flushes the cheeks and nose also affects the eyelids and tear glands. Because OptiLight treats inflammation at its source, it calms both the skin and the eyes in a single, gentle treatment.

The light's energy is absorbed by the dilated blood vessels that cause persistent flushing and visible capillaries. As those vessels collapse and fade, redness softens and the complexion looks clearer, calmer, and more even.
It also eases the inflammation behind rosacea flare-ups, helping skin stay comfortable and less reactive between treatments.
Ocular rosacea inflames the eyelid margins and clogs the meibomian glands, leaving eyes gritty, burning, and watery. OptiLight reduces that inflammation, clears the abnormal vessels along the lid, and helps the glands release healthy oils again.
The result is a more stable tear film and lasting relief from the dry, irritated eyes that so often accompany rosacea.

The Process
Phase 1
Gentle pulses of light are applied to the cheeks and the area below the eyes, precisely targeting inflammation and the meibomian glands.
Phase 2
The light's warmth softens hardened oils and clears blocked glands, while abnormal blood vessels that feed inflammation are absorbed.
Phase 3
Over the following days, inflammation settles and your tear film stabilizes — easing dryness, grittiness, and irritation.
Phase 4
Across a short series of sessions, results build for clearer skin and lasting dry eye relief, with periodic maintenance as needed.

If you have rosacea on your face, there is a significant chance it is also affecting your eyes — often without you realizing it. Ocular rosacea is one of the most underdiagnosed drivers of chronic dry eye, and treating the skin and the eyes together produces better results than treating either alone.

IPL is widely offered for rosacea and skin rejuvenation — but when the treatment zone involves the area around the eyes, there are compelling reasons to have it performed by an eye care specialist rather than a general aesthetics clinic.
